Rhodes scholar to speak at JCC

YOUNGSTOWN

Ashley Orr, the first Youngstown State University student to become a Rhodes scholar, will talk about the prestigious award and her experience at YSU at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, at noon Thursday.

Orr is a senior at YSU and is among only 32 American men and women chosen as Rhodes scholars to pursue post-graduate studies at Oxford University in England.

Thursday’s event includes lunch. Tickets are $10 ($12 after Tuesday). To register, call 330-746-3250, ext. 195.

Free organ concert at St. John’s church

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present a free concert featuring Dr. Richard Konzen, organist, at 4 p.m. Feb. 14 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave.
