The students at Hitchcock Woods Early Learning Center used the Thanksgiving holiday as a time to give back.

Students enjoyed a feast on Nov. 22 after several weeks of bringing in non-perishable food items for their food drive. The students ate turkey, stuffing and other Thanksgiving favorites. Many of the students wore hats as they ate. Everyone gave thanks before they shared a meal together.

From Nov. 1-17 students brought in any non-perishable food items and other goods that would be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank. Hitchcock Woods is involved in the community and is proud to participate in programs that help out the community and it’s members.

“It’s one of our service projects we do for the community,” said Betty Cmil, Administrator at Hitchcock.

Several items were brought in for the food drive and there were many bags and boxes filled to the top with the donations.

Hitchcock Woods is working on the Akron Children’s Hospital tree lighting event and Hopes and Wishes event for their next service projects. The students will be caroling as they help get people in the holiday spirit.
