AUSTINTOWN

Township police responded to two drug overdoses Wednesday.

According to reports, police received a call about two men passed out Wednesday afternoon in a vehicle in a parking lot on Meridian Road. The car was in drive when police arrived, but they were able to stop it.

Police awakened the passenger, but Raymond Olson, 27, of Boardman, who was driving the car, required four doses of Narcan, a drug used to stop opioid overdoses. Both men admitted to snorting heroin, according to the report. Olson said he also took several doses of Xanax. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. Police charged him with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Officers also responded Wednesday night to an overdose at a home on Lanterman Road. Paramedics were able to revive a man using Narcan. Police confiscated a small amount of heroin so his children wouldn’t find it, according to the report. Paramedics took the man to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital. The report said police may pursue charges against him.
