City police investigating accident, shooting


YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating after a man was injured in an auto accident about 2 a.m. today in which gunfire was involved.

Chief Robin Lees said there was evidence two cars were shooting at each other at Glenwood and Mistletoe avenues and both cars crashed. The occupants of one of the vehicles managed to flee before police arrived.

A man was found at the scene and was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained from being involved in an accident. Lees said officers found a shell casing and a Mac-10 machine pistol at the scene also.
