Veterans at Beeghly Oaks Center for Rehabilitation and Healing were honored on Nov. 22 during the Wall of Valor dedication ceremony.

American Legion Post 247 of Lowellville, Boardman public officials, Beeghly Oaks faculty members and residents gathered together for an afternoon to celebrate veterans. Several speakers addressed the crowd to honor the veterans who are residents of Beeghly Oaks and a plaque was given to Beeghly Oaks.

Residents and family members of faculty who are veterans were asked to submit a photo to hang on the wall at Beeghly for the Wall of Valor. An engraved plate with the veterans name and branch of service was paired with each picture.

One of the residents, Booker Morris, was called to the front of the room to say a few words.

“I really enjoyed my time in the service, I did 24 years,” said Morris.

All of the veterans who reside at Beeghly Oaks had their names called toward the end of the ceremony. As they stood or raised their hands, the crowd applauded them. Beeghly Oaks, a member of CareRite Centers, takes pride in the veterans who work for them and who stay at their facility.

“We graciously support all the men and women that have sacrificed so much for us. It’s a great honor for me to be able to kick of this program recognizing those people in the room, those who work for us, those who served our country,” said Alison Alvino, Beeghly Oaks administrator.

The ceremony concluded with refreshments while guests had the opportunity to look at the veterans’ pictures on the Wall of Valor.
