BEAVER FALLS

Spencer Wooley scored 17 points to lead the Cardinals. Also scoring in double figures were Zach Tinkey with 14 and Brandon McFall with 11.

Canton South 43, Cardinal Mooney 42

YOUNGSTOWN

After trailing by 13 at halftime, the Cardinals tied the game late in the fourth quarter before falling. Mooney’s Pete Haas led all scorers with 18 and Jordan Stanford chipped in with nine points.

Lowellville 65, Leetonia 56

LEETONIA

Nate Solak’s 24 points included six 3-pointers for the Rockets. Also scoring in double figures were Jon Chiclowe with 17 and Alex Mamula with 12. For the Bears, Jimmy Knepper led with 12 points. Isaac Stecker scored 11 and Roman Ferry 10.

Columbiana 62, Mineral Ridge 54

COLUMBIANA

A 16-9 run in the third quarter made the difference for Columbiana. Burdette Baker scored 23 points for the Clippers. Other Columbiana players in double figures were Jacob Clark with 14 points and Jared Wilson with 10 points. Christian DiRando led Mineral Ridge with 18 points and Jordan Zupko added 13 points.

North Canton Hoover 55, Howland 41

HOWLAND

Annie Roshak scored scored 21 points and Maddie Blyer added 13, including three 3-pointers, and the Vikings owned the first and third quarters in a road win. Hoover (5-1) outscored Howland (6-2) 12-4 in the first quarter and 17-9 in the third. Sara Price led the Tigers with 16 points and Mackenzie Maze added 10. Alex Ochman added six points and a game-high eight rebounds.

Canfield 60, Austintown Fitch 48

AUSTINTOWN

Jill Baker and Serena Sammarone each scored 17 points to lead the Cardinals. For the Falcons, Sabria Hunter led with 16 points and Allexis Sallee scored 13.

Jefferson 45, Girard 40

GIRARD

Maddy Hitchcock scored 14 points and Hannah Root 13 to lead the Falcons (1-3). For the Indians, Makayla Trebella scored 23 points including 10 free throws.

Newton Falls 60, Liberty 27

NEWTON FALLS

Newton Falls (5-1) led 18-2 after the first quarter. Kayla Barreca was the high-scorer with 11 points and nine rebounds and Izzy Kline had a double double of 10 points and 11 rebounds. China Tate had a game-high 18 points for Liberty.

Edgewood 30, Hubbard 25

HUBBARD

Edgewood’s Iesha Niciu took over a battle of attrition with 16 points. Marissa Grande was the high-scorer for Hubbard with nine points and Madison Casey had eight points.

Brookfield 58, LaBrae 47

BROOKFIELD

Bailey Drapola scored 24 points and Kenzie Drapola added 11 for Brookfield. Tori Sheehan had a double double of 13 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side.

South Range 57, Crestview 40

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

South Range (2-4, 2-0) held Crestview to single-digit scoring in the first three quarters. Maddie Durkin led the Raiders with 23 points and Taylor Naples scored 13. Alexis Gates and Emily Ferris were the two Crestview (3-4, 0-1) scoring in double digits with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Columbiana 88, Mineral Ridge 41

COLUMBIANA

The Clippers led 33-6 after the first quarter. Kayla Muslovsky went off for 29 points. Alexis Cross had 16 points and Kennedy Fullum added 13 for the winning side. Alexa Harkins scored 17 points to lead Mineral Ridge.

Jackson-Milton 46, United 28

NORTH JACKSON

Michaelina Terranova turned in a 16-point, eight-rebound performance for Jackson-Milton (8-0). Emily Williams added 11 points for the BlueJays. Hannah Mix led United (2-4) with 10 points.

West Branch 57, Salem 31

BELOIT

West Branch (4-2, 2-1) broke the game open with a 20-7 second quarter. Emma Rankin and Natalie Zuchowski each scored 12 points for the Indians and Brenna Rito added 10. Ellie Davidson and Chloe Cheresne scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Columbiana.

Southington 61, Badger 59

KINSMAN

Southington withstood a 25-point fourth quarter from Badger to hold on to the victory. Courtney Warnick led the Wildcats with 28 points. Badger’s Haylee Mott piled up 23 points.

CCS Christmas Invitational

CANTON

Several Mahoning Valley swimmers earned top three finishes at CT Branin Natatorium. Boardman’s 200 medley relay team of Matthew DunLany, Noah Basista, Kyle Kimerer and Callen Aulizia finished first (1:38.02). Their 400 freestyle relay team was second (3:15.18). Kimerer won the 100 butterfly (51.5). Aulizia won the 100 freestyle (46.72) and was second in the 50 freestyle (21.36). Basista won the 100 breaststroke (59.55). Austintown Fitch’s Timmy Kubacki won the 200 IM (1:55.01). He also won the 100 backstroke (51.2). Fitch’s Gia Direnzo was third in the 100 butterfly (59.61). The Canfield 200 freestyle relay team (Lake Bennett, Bobby Kutsch, Kamran Sarac and Cullen Brady) was third (1:30.3).

WRESTLING

LISBON

The Austintiown Fitch wrestling team won Saturday’s Hoppel Tournament, scoring 301 points. Beaver Local was second with 245 points.
