Boardman marching band performs in Chicago

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Boardman High School Spartan marching band performed in the annual McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade in Chicago, which had more than 400,000 spectators on State Street and millions of television viewers. The Spartans have been regular performers in the parade, with invitations extended to them every four years since the early 1970s. Band members attended a dinner and dance reception for all the marching bands, and the BHS Jazz Ensemble 1 performed during the dinner for more than 2,000 musicians and band directors. The band also enjoyed a cruise on Lake Michigan, shopping and sightseeing on The Magnificent Mile, the Willis Tower Sky deck, the Lincoln Park Zoo, Millennium Park, and the Broadway production “Finding Neverland.”
