Drugs: Officers in the 7900 block of Tippecanoe Road took into custody 25-year-old Nicholas A. Elmo of Claybourne Avenue, Boardman, on a warrant charging him with misdemeanor counts of drug abuse as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments. On Oct. 11, authorities responded to a drug overdose at Elmo’s home, where they found several needles, a spoon with burn marks common in drug use, two over-the-counter pills and a digital scale, a report showed.

Theft: A man in the 800 block of Boardman-Poland Road told officers another man drove away in a white truck after having stolen $40,000 from the victim’s glove compartment. The accuser also chased the thief, a report showed.

Identity theft: A Lockwood Boulevard woman told authorities the Internal Revenue Service faxed her the names of eight individuals and companies – five in Arizona, two in California and one in Canada – that reportedly had used her personal information to file income-tax returns.

Criminal damaging: Four landscaping lights were broken at a building in the 5400 block of Market Street, resulting in a $600 damage estimate.

Theft/criminal damaging: A Southern Boulevard woman alleged a neighbor had stolen her newspaper. The woman also discovered the numbering on her mailbox had been altered.

Dec. 3

Arrest: Authorities investigated a report of an aggressive driver who pulled into a South Avenue gas station before charging Austin E. Bollinger of Sodom-Hutchings Road Northeast, Vienna, with a third-degree felony count of fleeing and eluding police. The 22-year-old Bollinger led officers on a vehicular pursuit before he was spotted at a Route 224 gas station in Canfield, where he fled on foot from the Ohio State Highway Patrol before being apprehended in a nearby wooded area, a report showed. Bollinger also was charged with operating a vehicle impaired.

Theft: A Warren woman noticed her purse missing while at Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Latrisha D. Fields, 33, of 12th Street, Campbell, faced a felony-theft charge after $1,200 worth of merchandise was stolen from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft by deception: A Mill Creek Boulevard man told authorities that as he was selling workout equipment online for $1,500 or best offer, and a woman sent him a $2,850 check that turned out to be fraudulent.

Theft: Roneysha S. Cianciola, 24, of Glendale Avenue, Boardman, was charged with stealing 33 items valued at $278, including a small bed, from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A woman in her early 30s reportedly took clothing and laundry detergent from Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Attempted assault: A Walmart employee alleged a man in his 70s twice pushed a shopping cart toward him in an effort to strike the accuser. Earlier, the man had caused a disturbance after having become irate regarding a discount coupon, a report said.

Theft: Shantelle M. Uselton, 28, was charged with leaving Buffalo Wild Wings in Southern Park Mall without paying her $51 food bill. Uselton, of Dairy Lane, East Liverpool, also was wanted on a Columbiana County warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Dec. 4

Arrest: A traffic stop near Southwoods Drive resulted in the arrest of 30-year-old David G. Parker Jr. of Bayshore Drive, Columbiana, on a charge of operating a vehicle impaired.

Aggravated menacing: A Moyer Avenue woman reported a man came to her apartment building and pointed a semiautomatic handgun at the ground while threatening the accuser and her daughter.

Criminal damaging: Officers responded to someone in a truck driving through a yard in the 400 block of Orlo Lane, then charged 19-year-old Alex C. Willis of Rush Boulevard, Youngstown, with six misdemeanor counts of criminal damaging. Also, several yards on nearby Annawan Lane as well as New England and Euclid boulevards were damaged, a report stated.

Domestic violence: Selvin A.O. Espinal, 34, of Southern Boulevard, Boardman, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged Espinal had struck her face and jaw during an argument.

Threats: Police took into custody 60-year-old Jeffry J. Taylor at his Shelby Road residence on a charge of making domestic-violence threats related to a July 29 situation in which the Boardman man’s brother alleged he had called threatening to kill the accuser during an argument regarding paying utility bills.

Theft: Amanda M. Porter, 31, of Denver Drive, Poland, was charged in the theft of a 3-foot charging cord and an iPhone from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 4000 block of South Schenley Avenue through the front door. A $250 TV was taken, and the door frame sustained $500 in damage.

Theft: A man in his 20s reportedly stole a $300 set of headphones from Best Buy.

Menacing: A Youngstown woman in the 8100 block of Southern Boulevard alleged her boyfriend had threatened to get someone to harm a friend of hers.

Dec. 5

Theft: Lisa L. Price, 53, of Squirrel Hill Drive, Boardman, faced a theft charge, accused of having taken three Sony PlayStation 4 games valued at $120 from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: Weathersfield Township police handed to Boardman authorities Thomas M. Stokes, 27, who was wanted on a felony-theft charge. Stokes, of Main Avenue, Warren, was accused of stealing $1,057 worth of tools, including a drill set, Nov. 7 from Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd.

Theft: Janet T. May, 25, of Compass West Drive, Austintown, surrendered on a warrant accusing her of stealing laundry detergent and a box of tampons Oct. 18 from Dollar General, 4996 Market St.

Harassment: A Fredericksburg Drive woman reported having received a series of sexually explicit text messages.

Theft: Donald W. Owens Jr., 41, of South Main Street, Columbiana, was charged with taking $157 worth of tools, batteries and similar items from Home Depot.

Theft: Nola T. Hathman, 30, of Medford Avenue, Youngstown, was charged in the theft of $77 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

Theft: Police charged 24-year-old Amber M. Boerio of East Boston Avenue, Youngstown, with stealing merchandise that included red grapes from Walmart.

Drugs: Police responding to a loud-noise complaint in the 80 block of Washington Boulevard arrested 24-year-old Adrien T. German of Madison Street, Campbell, on a fifth-degree felony drug-abuse charge after alleging a bag of suspected crack cocaine was found in his vehicle.

Theft: A Youngstown woman reported her cellphone stolen while transporting another person to a doctor’s appointment in the 8200 block of South Avenue.

Theft: A man reportedly fled in a blue Toyota Sedan after having stolen four comforter sets and three coats from Burlington Coat Factory, 529 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A man noticed his wallet containing $100 missing from his Holbrooke Road home.

Dec. 6

Arrest: After pulling him over near Afton Avenue, authorities charged 44-year-old Andrew G. Hall with operating a vehicle impaired. Hall, of Crumlin Avenue, Girard, refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test, a report said.
