CUMC has three Christmas Eve services

« Canfield Neighbors

Canfield United Methodist Church, located at 27 S. Broad St. in Canfield, is offering three Christmas Eve services and a special breakfast and informal worship gathering on Christmas Day. The services will be led by senior minister Rev. Susan Brown with assistance from Rev. Beth McGuire, associate minister and lay volunteers offering music, reading and other forms of participation.

Each Christmas Eve service is unique but all include the traditional Christmas story, carols, communion and candlelight:

• With a focus on scripture, prayer and a Christmas message, the 1:30 p.m. worship service is perfect for those who do not like to drive after dark, or who are heading out of town for Christmas.

• The 6 p.m. worship service is geared to families and children and includes the children’s choir and a special message for children along with an inspirational Christmas reflection.

• A traditional worship service is planned at 9 p.m. that includes special instrumental and vocal music and a message of hope.

On Christmas Day, a free, hot breakfast will be offered beginning at 8:30 a.m. with an informal worship service to follow at 9:30 a.m. in the church’s Atrium hall.
