Vallourec has announced the completion of Value 16, a capital increase reserved for employees worldwide. Close to 10,000 employees, in 11 countries, including the U.S., representing 54 percent of eligible personnel, subscribed to Vallourec’s ninth international employee share offering.

The proceeds of the capital increase amounted to $27.6 million, with the issuance of 6,599,956 new shares (representing about 1.48 percent of the number of outstanding shares).

The offer increases the total number of Vallourec outstanding shares to 451,238,005 as of Dec. 14.

Braking Point

AUSTINTOWN

Braking Point Recovery Center is wrapping up construction of its second location in Whitehall, about 10 miles outside of Columbus. Staff is already hearing interest from local residents and expects to be busy when the doors open Jan 3.

Open enrollment

CANFIELD

Enrollment is open for upcoming ninth- and 10th-graders interested in applying to the Valley STEM + ME2 Academy for the 2017-2018 school year. The 7,500-square-foot lab is housed on the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center Campus, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.

The academy uses a rigorous curriculum, using problem-based learning based on science, technology, engineering and math principles.

An open house will take place Feb. 9.

WASHINGTON

U.S. crude oil proved reserves declined 4.7 billion barrels or 11.8 percent from their year-end 2014 level to 35.2 billion barrels at year-end 2015, according to U.S. Crude Oil and Natural Gas Proved Reserves, Year-end 2015, released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. U.S. natural gas proved reserves decreased 64.5 trillion cubic feet, a 16.6 percent decline, reducing the U.S. total to 324.3 trillion cubic feet at year-end 2015.

Wash. hospitals sold

FRANKLIN, TENN.

Community Health Systems Inc., the parent company of ValleyCare Health System of Ohio, recently announced that subsidiaries of the company have signed a definitive agreement to sell two Washington hospitals: 214-bed Yakima Regional Medical & Cardiac Center in Yakima and 63-bed Toppenish Community Hospital in Toppenish, to Sunnyside Community Hospital & Clinics for about $45 million including working capital.
