Warren Harding 73, Lakeside 46

ASHTABULA

Warren Harding’s Mike Hughes hit five threes and Derek Culver was a rebound shy of a double double as Harding (1-2) picked up its first win of the season. Hughes scored 20 points and Culver had 15 points and nine rebounds. Lynn Bowden had 11 points for the winning side. Robert Walker put up 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Lakeside (2-1).

Newton Falls 56, Girard 49

NEWTON FALLS

Newton Falls (1-2, 1-1) was led in scoring by Joey Urso who poured in 22. Gage Friend added 12 and Adam Honeycutt made two threes. Girard’s (1-3, 1-1) leading scorer on the night was Anthony Graziano with 14 and four made three pointers.

Struthers 74, Jefferson 45

STRUTHERS

Andrew Carbon scored 12 points and hauled in seven rebounds and A.J. Musolino added 10 points to lead Struthers (4-0). Jaret Jacubec added nine points, hitting three three-pointers.

Lakeview 68, Hubbard 54

CORTLAND

Lakeview (2-3, 1-1) out-scored Hubbard 28-9 in the fourth quarter to pull away. Chris Muir led the Bulldogs with 24 points, Daniel Evans added 15 and Jatise Garrsion had a double double of 11 points and 12 rebounds. Davion Daniels and Shannon Slovesko each scored 11 points for the Eagles (1-3, 0-2). Bashar Rasoul reached double figures with 10 points.

Badger 80, Heartland Christian 57

COLUMBIANA

Leading the way for Badger (2-1) was Aiden Miller who scored a game high 20 points. Also in double figures for the Braves were Logan Lendak (13), Jacob Eucker (10), and Logan Popovich (13). Ben Burgess led Heartland Christian (0-5) with 22 points.

Warren JFK 80, Maplewood 57

WARREN

Antonio McQueen led Warren JFK with his 31 point outburst. Justin Bofenkamp added 17 in the game. Maplewood’s top scorer Zachary Dawson with 15 and Jake Hall added 12.

Champion 70, Brookfield 65

BROOKFIELD

Lucas Nasonti led Champion (3-0), scoring 26 points. Michael Turner (16) and Blake Batcho (14) also reached double figures for the Flashes. The Brookfield (1-4) quartet of Chad Filipovich (14), Nate Smoot (11), Hayden O’Brien (14), and Brian Hiner (14) all reached double figures.
