A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

Dec. 8

Theft: A Canfield man reported a $1,000 business check stolen while in the 5800 block of Struthers Road.

Dec. 9

Harassment: A Sylvan Street woman told police she’s being harassed.

Dec. 8

Arrest: East Liverpool police handed to township authorities Anthony C. Raines, who listed East Liverpool addresses on Clayburn Place and Glenn Street. The 29-year-old Raines faced a fifth-degree felony count of passing a bad check after such a transaction had taken place in November 2015 at Preston Mazda, 260 Boardman-Poland Road.

Auto theft: A 2006 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen in the 4500 block of Montrose Avenue.

Theft: A man reportedly stole a hooded sweatshirt and a pair of pants from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall.

Identity theft: A Youngstown man learned that his personal information had been used without consent to open a cellphone account at a Boardman-Poland Road business.

Harassment: A South Avenue woman said she received a series of vulgar calls.

Domestic violence: Gina M. Wiser, 49, of Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, was charged with the crime after her daughter alleged that during an argument related to holiday family functions, Wiser punched and slapped her several times, then kicked the accuser in the left thigh area.

Theft: Veronica L. Scott, 29, of Palmer Avenue, Campbell, surrendered on a theft charge related to an Aug. 20 shoplifting situation at Walgreens Pharmacy, 525 E. Midlothian Blvd., in which energy drinks had been stolen.

Theft: A Youngstown man noticed his $600 iPhone missing while working at a Market Street care facility.

Theft: Both license plates were removed from a vehicle in the 7600 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Dec. 9

Theft: Jamal Wingo, 35, of Gluck Street, Austintown, surrendered on a warrant accusing him of stealing five cases of energy drinks Aug. 20 from Walgreens Pharmacy, 525 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Arrest: After responding to a complaint of an intoxicated person disrupting customers at a Market Street gas station, authorities charged Yesenia A. Stubbs, 36, with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct. Stubbs, of New England Boulevard, Boardman, was in the station more than 45 minutes yelling at someone on her phone; also, she twice refused to provide her identification, then slapped an officer’s hand as he reached for her wallet that she had tucked under her arm, a report stated.

Employee theft: Ariana R. Mostella, 21, of South Hazelwood Avenue, Youngstown, faced a felony-theft charge after a district manager with Claire’s, a boutique store in Southern Park Mall, told police an investigation revealed that on several occasions, undisclosed amounts of money turned up missing from a register.

Theft: A license plate was missing from a car in the 6700 block of Tanglewood Drive.

Theft: An elderly Sierra Madre Drive woman alleged her caretaker had stolen $400 and a $100 pair of earrings from her.

Robbery: The owner of an East Midlothian Boulevard gym told police he shot a man in the head who he alleged had tried to rob his business. The man was found on the gym floor bleeding profusely and was disarmed before being taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, a police report stated.

Theft: Sierra N. Chaibi, 20, of Orlo Lane, Boardman, was charged in the theft of $160 worth of clothing and jewelry from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Domestic violence: Brandon G. Organ, 21, of Southern Boulevard, Boardman, was charged after police responded to a possible fight at his apartment building, where an officer alleged having entered Organ’s apartment to see him on a couch holding down a woman who he was possibly trying to choke. The victim had red marks on her neck, a report showed.

Theft: A man in his 20s reportedly fled in a black 1999 Jeep Cherokee after having taken a $398 TV and other merchandise from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Harassment: Officers arrested a 15-year-old boy at his Youngstown residence on a telephone-harassment charge after a Turnberry Drive woman reported having received six vulgar, unwanted text messages.

Theft: Terrence D. Tucker, 48, of Rosser Avenue, Hubbard, was charged with stealing a 55-inch, $598 TV from Walmart.

Theft: A man in his 50s reportedly stole $414 worth of perfume from the JCPenney store in Southern Park Mall.

Identity theft: A Crimson Trail man told authorities he had given his credit-card numbers and Social Security number to a caller from North Carolina who claimed the accuser was eligible for a two-year, 0 percent interest rate before realizing it was a scam.

Employee theft: Destiny V. Szedon, 19, of Centennial Street, New Castle, Pa., was charged after a loss-prevention official with Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road, alleged Szedon had stolen an undisclosed sum of money from her register. The official further alleged she might be responsible for other, similar thefts, a report said.

Arrest: After responding to a possible domestic dispute, police charged Charles H. Switzer of Red Tail Hawk Drive, Boardman, with operating a vehicle impaired. The 58-year-old man had a 0.160 blood-alcohol content, which is double Ohio’s 0.08 legal intoxication limit, a report said.

Dec. 10

Domestic violence: Tina Shorthouse, 34, of Ron Joy Place, Boardman, faced a charge after her husband alleged Shorthouse had punched his face during an argument.

Theft: Andres F. Urrego of West Indianola Avenue, Youngstown, was charged. Urrego, 37, was accused of taking $243 worth of merchandise, including a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey, from Macy’s.

Theft: Police charged 68-year-old Philip L. Regano after alleging Regano, of Hunters Woods Boulevard, Canfield, had stolen five pairs of shorts and three shirts valued at $275 from Macy’s.

Theft: Police in Salem took custody of Angel M. Gorby of West Pine Lake Road, Salem. The 34-year-old woman was accused of stealing four Xbox video games Dec. 2 from Walmart.

Fraud: A Larkridge Avenue man found more than $1,900 worth of fraudulent charges after having reported credit cards stolen.

Theft: A township woman noticed her wallet missing while at Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Sarah G. Deangel, 31, of Terrace Drive, Boardman, was charged, accused of having stolen $52 worth of miscellaneous items such as a women’s razor from Walmart.

Theft: Authorities charged 60-year-old Dana G. Thomas with one count of theft after alleging the Columbia, S.C., man had taken $289 worth of fragrance products from the JCPenney store.

Dec. 11

Theft: A Boardman woman reported her purse stolen as she shopped at a Boardman-Canfield Road grocery store.

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 4600 block of South Avenue resulted in the arrest of 33-year-old Timothy K. Whitfield of Potomac Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on two city warrants.

Arrest: Raymond L. Barber, 64, of Woodview Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired after police had pulled him over near Market Street. Breathalyzer test results showed Barber’s blood-alcohol content was 0.190, a report stated.

Theft: Timothy A. Hinkle, 48, of South Leavitt Road, Leavittsburg, was charged in the theft of $343 worth of property, including a 43-inch TV, from Walmart.
