‘Distinguished County Auditor’ award
Mahoning County Auditor Ralph T. Meacham has received the “Distinguished County Auditor” award from the County Auditors’ Association of Ohio.
The award recognizes county auditors who have completed 100 or more hours of continuing education during their terms of office.
State law requires county auditors to complete at least 24 hours of continuing education during their terms.
Meacham, who took office in March 2015, obtained his training in topics such as valuation, millage and tax levies, board of revision issues and procedures, GIS and technology issues and two mandatory classes in ethics and substance abuse.
Premier legal education conference
Jack N. Alpern, Mahoning Valley estate planning and elder law attorney, participated in one of the nation’s premier legal education conferences in San Diego, Calif., last month.
Hosted by the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, the 23rd annual fall summit included more than 100 estate planning law firms from around the country that met specific qualifications for exclusive membership with the academy.
The academy is devoted to helping its member attorneys improve their relationships within their communities as well as enhance the way they practice law.
