Girard (1-1, 1-0) took a 20-6 lead in the first quarter and did not look back. Mark Waid put up a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds and Austin Clausell added 11 points. R. Hicks scored 17 points for Campbell.

Anthony Ritter led the Raiders with 16 points. Brandon Youngs and Dan Ritter each scored 15 points while Jaxon Anderson scored 11. For the Blue Devils, Kade Hilles scored 18 points.

Justin Sweeney scored 24 points to lead Lisbon (3-1). Seth Stokes and Branson Brownfield each scored 15 for the Blue Devils. Parker Sherry led East Palestine (2-1) with 15 points. Branden Kemp added 14 points and Dominic Posey scored 11.

Louisville’s Chris Libertore poured 39 points on Salem. Mitch Davidson led the Quakers’ effort with 21 points. Chase Ackerman added 15 points and Jon Gerace and Garrett Dickey put up 13 and 14 points, respectively.

Zak Pappas led Beaver Local with 15 points. Chase Wilcox (14) and Nathan Kline (11) also reached double figures for the Beavers.

Lordstown was led by Dakota Bingham who scored 24 points and hit two three pointers. Anthony Young added 12 points of his own for the Blue Devils.

CANTON

Canfield has two wrestlers in the quarterfinals of the Walsh Ironman tournament at Walsh University after one day of competition. The tourney brings in nationally ranked talent from around the nation.

Reigning state champion Georgio Poullas (160) bested Pennsylvania wrestler Kyle Costello (No. 27) in a major decision, 10-2. The senior No. 6 seed then won an 8-2 decision against Oklahoma product Caleb Wise (No. 11).

Mason Giordano (285) took down St. Edward’s Luca Santillo (No. 21), 10-4 before the 12-seed scored a 4-3 upset against the No. 5 seed, Virginia grappler Wade Wheeler.

David Crawford (170) and Tyler Stein (195) are alive in the tournament, but are in the consolation round. Canfield ranks 27th nationally out of 90 teams. The tournament continues today at 10 a.m.
