CLEVELAND

An Ohio city where a police officer fatally shot an Emirati man who fled after a crash has released a recording of the officer yelling at him to stop and get down before firing what sounds like six rounds.

The city of Hudson released the audio recording from a police car’s dashcam after the shooting last week of 26-year-old Saif Nasser Mubarak Alameri. Authorities on Thursday identified Ryan Doran as the officer who shot Alameri after a struggle in a wooded area near the Ohio Turnpike.

The Summit County medical examiner’s office said Alameri died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The dashcam doesn’t show the shooting but recorded Doran shouting orders and the sound of gunshots.

Doran, who has been an officer for the city since 2004, is on paid administrative leave.

An investigation of the shooting by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification will be reviewed by the Summit County prosecutor’s office. Authorities have not said whether Alameri had a weapon when he was shot.
