Valley’s auto sales up in November

The Mahoning Valley’s new and used auto sales were up slightly in November by 338.

In November, a total of 4,216 vehicles were sold, according to data released by the Greater Cleveland Automobile dealers Association. In November 2015, the area had 3,878 sales.

Total new sales during the month were 2,467 compared with 2,140 sold in November 2015.

Total used sales were 1,681 compared with 1,694 made in November last year.

The Valley’s auto sales for the year so far are behind last year’s with 48,850 total sales compared with 51,457 at this time last year.

In November, the top three models were the Chevrolet Equinox with 273 sales; the Chevrolet Silverado with 155 sales; and the Chevrolet Malibu with 90 sales. The Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze came in fifth place with 83 sales.

The top used model was the Cruze with 82 sales; the Malibu came in second with 65 sales; and the Ford F-150 came in third with 54 sales.

The top dealers for new sales were Sweeney Chevrolet of Boardman with 190 sales; Greenwood Chevrolet with 167; and Taylor Kia of Boardman with 130.

The top dealers for used sales were Taylor Kia of Boardman with 82 sales; Greenwood Chevrolet of Austintown with 79; and Donnell Auto Group of Boardman with 78.

For all sales, Greenwood Chevrolet and Sweeney Chevrolet had the most each having 246 and Taylor Kia of Boardman followed with 212.
