Model train show and sale at Buhl
Staff report
SHARON, PA.
The Buhl Model Train Society will have its ninth annual train show and display at the Buhl Community Center gymnasium, 28 N. Pine St., Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. each day.
The Shenango Valley Mermaids will perform an aquatic show in the pool next to the gym at 3:30 p.m. each day. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
The gym will be filled with moving model train displays.
Again this year, there will be an “Antique Road Show”-style program in which local experts will offer advice on a model train piece’s value, where to get it fixed, and how to keep it running. Guests can bring items to be appraised.
New this year will be a large N-scale railroad.
In addition to working layouts, the event will include railroad memorabilia. A commemorative 2017 calendar with pen and ink drawings of bygone railroading by George Dell will be available for purchase.
There also will be door prizes, a silent auction and Buhl Model Train Society T-shirts for sale.
