v Packard Concert Band, 2 p.m.: The band will perform a free Christmas concert with vocalists Cortney McKay and Dana Victor, plus a host of dancers from local schools, and more. Santa will also be on hand at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren.

v TubaChristmas, 2 p.m.: Dozens of tuba and euphonium will take the stage for this fun seasonal concert

“Mariah’s World” (9 p.m., E!): Brace yourself for “Mariah’s World.” It’s a new eight-part series that grants viewers “exclusive access” to the whirlwind life of pop diva Mariah Carey as she kicks off her “Sweet Sweet Fantasy” tour.

“Westworld” (9 p.m., HBO): The wild, weird and wonderful first season of “Westworld” comes to a close in tonight’s super-sized, 90-minute finale. We have no clue how it will unfold, but we expect to be hanging from a very steep cliff when it’s all over.

Holiday music with big band flair

WARREN

The Big Band Sound of Packard will give a free concert of holiday music, Big Band style, at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. Titled “Big Band Jingle Bell Swing,” the concert will feature vocalist Helen Welch. Santa Claus will also make an appearance. Welch has appeared on Broadway, sung with symphony orchestras across the country, appeared with the Columbus and Cleveland jazz orchestras and has released four albums.

Local history book authors to read

YOUNGSTOWN

The authors of three local history books will appear at Lit Youngstown’s monthly reading series at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Suzie’s Dogs and Drafts, 34 N. Phelps St., downtown. Sean T. Posey, author of “Lost Youngstown”; Martha Pallante and Donna DeBlasio, authors of “Italian Americans of the Mahoning Valley”; and Cathy Hester Seckman, author of “East Liverpool,” will read from their books, all of which were published by Arcadia Publishing. Posey is a freelance writer, photographer and historian. Seckman is a writer, speaker and dental hygienist. DeBlasio and Pallante are professors of history at Youngstown State University.
