DiRusso’s Italian Sausage Inc. recently joined locally-owned website FoodECrave.com to provide DiRusso’s products to customers nationwide.

The partnership with FoodECrave will give the Youngstown company the opportunity to sell Italian sausage and meatballs on an online marketplace at a reasonable cost.

Chamber seminar

POLAND

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a Human Resources Hot Topics seminar on the Fair Labor Standards Act and Part-Time Workers’ Bill of Rights on Dec. 15 at the Poland Library, 311 S. Main St.

The FLSA was issued by the Labor Department and would have taken effect Dec. 1 and doubled the maximum salary a worker can earn and still be eligible for mandatory overtime pay to $47,500.

The Part-Time Workers’ Bill of Rights charter amendment was recently passed in the city of Youngstown. The amendment establishes a Part-Time Workers’ Rights Commission to oversee workplace standards for hourly employees who work fewer than 40 hours per week.

The event takes place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for prospective members.

Teacher job fair

CANFIELD

On Wednesday, the Mahoning Valley Regional Council of Governments will have a “Regional Substitute Teacher Job Fair.” It will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Joyce Brooks Center located inside the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N Palmyra Road.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any field and be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Positions include flexible scheduling and compensation of $75 per day. On-site interviews will be conducted, and candidates are encouraged to bring resumes with them. Registration is suggested, but not required, by calling 877-977-9499.

The Small Business Administration will have a SBA Loan Information seminar from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 15 at 1350 Euclid Ave.

Small business owners, as well as individuals interested in starting a business, can discover how to obtain financing for their venture by attending this free seminar. You will learn about financing options available through SBA. Participants will also have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with a SBA specialist and make counseling appointments with SCORE, “Counselors to America’s Small Business.”
