Lions Club Christmas party

YOUNGSTOWN

The Lions Club of Youngstown’s 96th annual Christmas Party for Visually Impaired and Special Needs Children will be at noon Tuesday at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, and include 96 children from Youngstown City Schools, Leonard Kirtz School and South Side Academy.

Myra Vitto, investment adviser of PNC Bank and Lions Club second vice president, organized the event.

“I’ve been involved in this event for the past several years and to be able to sit down and talk with the children over lunch, see their expressions when Santa arrives and their excitement when their names are called to receive their gifts, it makes all the effort and preparation worth it,” says Vitto.

Vitto said the event wouldn’t be possible without the support of Lions Club friends and sponsors and the teachers, aides and administrators at the schools organizing the gift lists and transportation for the event.
