Youngstown Rifle & Pistol Club, 8900 Shaffer Road, will have a match at 9 a.m. Sunday.
The match is open to the public and will feature 30 rounds (ammunition supplied free) at 200 yards.
Cost is $35 per person. World War II and Korean War veterans shoot free.
M1941 Johnson and M1 carbine rifles will be used. M-1 grand and M1 carbines will be available, but participants must call ahead.
All proceeds go to the VA Outpatient Clinic on Belmont Ave.

Lowellville club to host gun show
Lowellville
The Mahoning Valley Gun Collectors will have a gun show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Saturday and Dec. 11 at the Lowellville Rod & Gun Club, 6225 Quarry Road.
Admission is $4. Buy, sell and trade all types of guns, hunting and fishing equipment and collectibles. All firearms must be unloaded and are subject to inspection before entering.

Classes suspended
North Jackson
Youngstown Rifle & Pistol Club, 8900 Shaffer Road, is suspending its youth classes in December because of the holidays. The classes will return starting the fourth Friday in January.
18,776 deer harvested
COLUMBUS
Hunters checked 18,776 white-tailed deer Monday, the opening day of Ohio’s deer-gun hunting season, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. In 2015, 22,253 deer were reported the first day of the deer-gun season.
Ohio’s deer-gun season remains open through Sunday. Two additional days of deer-gun season (Dec. 17 and 18) are available for people to hunt with firearms.
