Submit information on holiday services

The Vindicator will publish a listing of area services that are open to the public in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The Christmas list will run on the Religion page Dec. 17. The New Year’s list will run Dec. 24.

The deadline to submit information is 5 p.m. Dec. 14.

Information should include the denomination and name of the church, address, city or suburb and time of Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day services and New Year’s Eve and/or New Year’s Day services.

The information should be accompanied by a name and a phone number for verification or any questions.

Celebration Mass

CAMPBELL

Christ, the Good Shepherd Parish will have a celebration in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12 in St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave.

There will be a mariachi-style Mass.

Participants should bring a rose to present to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Refreshments will be served in the church hall after the Mass.

‘Connection to Sinai’ program

LIBERTY

Jewish/Christian Studies/North will focus on the “connection to Sinai” during a program Wednesday at Temple El Emeth, 3970 Logan Way.

The group gathers at 12:30 p.m. with the study at 1. Values, blessings and challenges will be discussed by the Rev. Kevin Gregory Long of Antioch Orthodox Church in New Castle, Pa.

Celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe

YOUNGSTOWN

Faith Formation at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., in collaboration with Walsh University Campus Ministry, will present a parish family event Dec. 11 in celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. followed by song and praise, a Mexican meal and presentation by Miguel Chavez, director of Campus Ministry at Walsh University, and Pedro Chavez, director of Liturgical Services at Walsh. They will focus on the appearance of Our Lady of Guadalupe to St. Juan Diego.

Pedro will serve as music minister at Mass and lead the congregation in song and praise.

Donations of roses and carnations are requested for the celebration.

Christmas story

WAYNE

“Home for Christmas” is the theme of a Christmas story in word and song planned at 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at First Congregational Church of Wayne, corner of routes 322 and 193.

Refreshments will follow the program.

Christmas cantata

STRUTHERS

Struthers Parkside Church, 110 Poland Ave., will present a Christmas cantata, “O Come, O Come,” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The cantata is dedicated to the late Suzy Owens, choir director, who recently died.

The program will include song, praise and Scripture.

Refreshments and fellowship will follow the program.
