The grand jury also indicted Carlos Valentin, 26, of East Avondale Avenue, on illegal gun possession and improperly handling a gun in a motor vehicle.
About 2:10 a.m. on Oct. 31, a trooper with the Canfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol pulled over a car driven by Valentin for running a stop sign. Reports said Valentin smelled of alcohol and the trooper asked him to step out of the car to take a sobriety test. When Valentin stepped out, the trooper smelled marijuana on Valentin’s clothes, reports said.
The trooper searched the car and found a loaded .45-caliber handgun in between the front seats.
