Beeghly Oaks Center for Rehabilitation and Healing hosted a Fall Festival event on Oct. 23 for the community.

This was the first year Beeghly Oaks has hosted a Fall Festival and activities director Maureen McCarty is looking forward to have more as the years come.

The event was open for the residents, their family members, the Beeghly Oaks staff and anyone from the community to come and enjoy.

The event offered petting zoo, face painting, refreshments, live entertainment and more for guests to enjoy, all for free.

McCarty created the festival as a way to bring a sense of community togetherness to the residents.

The country band “Sarah Warner and Friends” provided music under the pavilion for guests to enjoy. Many residents sat and listened to the music, while others danced to the beat.

Many of the children who attended enjoyed visiting the animals in the petting zoo, brought by Lynn Pony Farm. There were ducks, rabbits, a pig, a mini-horse, a sheep and several other animals people could pet.

Several of the guests and residents dressed up in costumes to celebrate the event. One of the residents was dressed up to pass out candy to children who came to the festival.

With the great turnout of the first Fall Festival, Beeghly Oaks hopes to have the same success as they continue to host the event.
