CANFIELD FAIR | Fans flock to Happy Together Tour with happy memories

CANFIELD

With less than an hour to go before the Happy Together Tour 2016 kicks off the Canfield Fair's grandstand attractions for the week, concertgoers expressed excitement for the show.

The tour — which this year features The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie; Chuck Negron; Mark Lindsay; The Cowsills; Gary Puckett & The Union Gap; and The Spencer Davis Group starring Spencer Davis — showcases music made popular in the 1960s. The act also visited the fairgrounds last year.

It was the 2015 performance that made Ed and Vicki Fredericks of Canfield decide to attend the show tonight.

"We saw them last year, so we're just excited to see them again. It was really good last year," said Ed.

"What amazed me was, they sounded the same as they used to," said Vicki.

"Though they might not look the same," added Ed, laughing.

Also returning for round two were Eric and Luanne Pirogowicz, of Akron.

"We saw them last year and they were really good. We liked that sixties music," said Eric. "And the price is right. You get to come to the Canfield Fair."

They were especially excited to see Chuck Negron, who wasn't part of the tour last year.

Jean Potashnik and Ellie Monchak, of Howland, were most excited to see Gary Puckett & The Union Gap.

"I've been a fan of them forever," said Potashnik.

The shows begins at 8 p.m.
