CANFIELD FAIR | The 170th fair officially opened today


CANFIELD — The 170th Canfield Fair opened today to cloudy skies, but that hasn't kept fairgoers away.

Vendors are open, barns are filled, and judging is underway on fruits, honey and ponies.

At 6:30 p.m. there will be a "It Takes Two: Salty and Caramel" live judging contest at the Junior Fair Booth Exhibits on Austintown Drive.

The Happy Together Tour 2016, featuring the Turtles, will start at 8 p.m. at the grandstand.

Today, the cost to get in is $3 for children ages 7 to 12; $6 for adults; and $4 for senior citizens. Children 6 and under get in free.
