Charles and Janelle Sarbach of Windsor, 5 miles north of Mesopotamia, died last week of injuries they suffered when a driver traveling the wrong way on a Michigan highway hit them head-on.

Charles, 72, died in the Aug. 22 crash on U.S. 10 in Clare County, about an hour northwest of Saginaw, Mich., in the northern part of the state.

He was a tool and die maker at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Lordstown and was a UAW safety representative.

The driver of the other car, Ines Brocht, 86, Marion, Mich., was going the wrong way when she struck the vehicle being driven by Charles Sarbach. Brocht also died in the crash.

Janelle Sarbach, 71, was taken to a Michigan hospital, where she died Thursday.

Among her activities, she volunteered at nursing homes and had many friends in the Amish community, according to her obituary.
