A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

Aug. 22

Theft: A man and a woman reportedly stole 12 cans of an energy drink from Walgreens Pharmacy, 15 S. Main St.

Aug. 24

Drugs: While responding to a possible break-in at a residence in the 300 block of Scott Street, police charged 34-year-old Scott T. Herrmann of Lockwood Boulevard, Boardman, with possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia after alleging having found a charred spoon common in drug use and two hypodermic needles in a bag under a vehicle near where he was arrested.

Breaking and entering: After investigating a break-in at a foreclosed home in the 300 block of Scott Street, authorities charged Scott T. Herrmann with breaking and entering, criminal damaging and receiving stolen property, along with 32-year-old Charlene C. Herrmann, who lives several houses away on Scott Street, with receiving stolen property, Nearly $3,000 worth of copper lines had been cut and stolen, a report said.

Aug. 25

Theft: The front license plate was removed from a car in the 100 block of Hager Street.

Arrest: Boardman police relinquished custody of 26-year-old James P. Feltner of North Buena Vista Avenue, Youngstown. He was wanted on a domestic-violence warrant from Hubbard.

Aug. 27

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 40 block of Elmwood Drive was found with a shattered passenger-side window. Damage was estimated at $200.

Aug. 29

Theft: A West Park Avenue woman noticed her wallet missing from the laundry room in her apartment building.

LIBERTY

Aug. 23

Theft: A Warren man reported four checks totaling $410 had been stolen then cashed at a Belmont Avenue bank.

Aug. 24

Theft: Someone stole the top of a $150 mailbox at a residence in the 1200 block of Academy Drive.

Recovered property: A woman shopping at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, found two credit cards and an insurance card that belong to a Youngstown woman.

Robbery: A man with a 3- or 4-inch knife wearing a green, blue and white striped shirt, tennis shoes and a gray knit cap and pair of pants reportedly reached over a counter at Dollar General, 4425 Logan Way, then grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from a cash register and left the store.

Incident: A Liberty woman showed police a Facebook post that reportedly contained a photograph of her infant daughter with a caption that was sexual in nature.

Aug. 25

Identity theft: A Northlawn Drive man discovered someone without authorization had used his debit-card information to make $339 worth of fraudulent online transactions.

Trespassing: After saying he had seen three males, possibly juveniles, on his property, a Merrill Road man reportedly fired three or four rounds at the ground, then chased them in his truck.

Aug. 26

Theft: Timothy D. Banks, 22, was charged with stealing $226 worth of merchandise from Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave. Banks, of High Street, Youngstown, also was wanted on a warrant from that city accusing him of failing to appear in court.

Harassment: A township woman told police she had found disturbing and sexually inappropriate messages on her 15-year-old son’s cellphone.

Aug. 27

Arrests: A traffic stop near Roosevelt Drive resulted in the arrests of John T. Bevly, 54, of Coronado Avenue, Youngstown, and 60-year-old Curtis Elder of Roosevelt, Liberty. Both were wanted on warrants charging failure to appear in court.

Aug. 28

Arrests: After having pulled them over near state Route 193 and Interstate 80, authorities charged 20-year-old Jamal D. Norman of Lincoln Street, Sharon, Pa., with cocaine possession, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and obstructing official business; 21-year-old Jeronte J. Robinson of Fullerton Street, Sharon, with contributing to the delinquency of a minor; and a Sharon boy, 16, with juvenile offenses. A bag of suspected cocaine was found; also, Norman provided false personal information to avoid receiving a citation, a report stated.

Auto theft: A 1996 Buick vehicle was stolen in the 2000 block of Pleasant Valley Road.

GIRARD

Aug. 25

Theft: An East Second Street woman alleged her former boyfriend stole a $120 grill from her driveway after an argument between them.

Aug. 26

Arrest: Officers picked up 40-year-old Benny T. Hunt at the Summit County jail. The Akron man was wanted on a Girard warrant.

Arrest: Officers were dispatched to Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren to pick up a 16-year-old Girard girl who was wanted on a domestic-violence warrant.

Aug. 27

Assault: A man alleged another man had shoved the accuser’s son to the ground when the son went to visit a friend at an Idaho Avenue residence.

Trespassing: Five juveniles age 15 to 17 reportedly vandalized homes and trespassed on the properties on Mohican Drive. A bag of dog excrement was found at one of the residences, police said.

Vandalism: A Trumbull Court man noticed someone had removed his car’s gas tank and smeared dog feces in the area around the tank.

Arrest: After answering a call about a car in a ditch near Mosier Road, authorities charged Bert W. McClimans of Ohio Avenue, Girard, with operating a vehicle impaired. McClimans, 41, had a 0.299 blood-alcohol content, which is more than three times Ohio’s 0.08 legal intoxication limit, a report showed.

Aug. 28

Arrest: While on routine patrol, an officer reported having noticed someone slumped in a car at a stop sign near Smithsonian Street before 20-year-old Candis S. Wynn of Lucretia Drive, Girard, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired and issued a minor-misdemeanor citation charging her with having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Menacing: A motorist near Joan and Wellman avenues told police a driver threatened to harm him after the accuser swerved slightly to slow down the driver, who a report said had been driving in excess of 80 mph.

Arrest: Timothy C. Durr of East Marshall Road, Girard, was taken into custody on East Prospect Street. The 38-year-old Durr was wanted on a Niles warrant charging him with violating a protection order.

Theft: An East Wilson Avenue woman reported a $200 bicycle was removed from her front yard.
