Luke Snyder scored on a 5-yard run with 7:42 to play to give the Tigers (1-0) a victory.

Snyder also scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter.

The Warriors’ Xavier Bailey scored first-half touchdowns on runs of 2 and 6 yards.

Bailey also threw a touchdown pass for Brookfield (0-1).

East Palestine 37, Salem 35

SALEM

Parker Sherry’s three touchdowns and a fourth quarter safety were enough to secure a road victory for the Bulldogs (1-0).

Salem’s Mitch Davidson threw for 244 yards in defeat.

East Palestine won the turnover battle scooping up two fumbles by the Quakers (0-1).

Lakeview 31, Campbell 21

CORTLAND

Bulldogs quarterback Zach Rogers and his receivers, especially Jatisse Garrison and Tony Crish, were unstoppable in a season-opening victory over the Red Devils.

Rogers was 13 of 23 for 245 yards and four touchdown passes, including scoring connections of 67 and 11 yards to Garrison. Rogers also threw touchdown passes of 75 yards and nine yards to Crish.

Garrison finished with seven catches for 127 yards and Crish caught two for 84. Drew Munno had three receptions for 29 yards.

Josh Kelly had a 27-yard field goal and kicked four PATs for Lakeview (1-0).

Campbell (0-1) scored all 21 of its points in a wild, 35-point scored quarter.

Yanni Koullias ran for a 2-yard touchdown and returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown for the Red Devils. Campbell’s Darion Jones also threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Elijah McCaskill.

Koullias ran for 128 yards on 20 carries.

Struthers 42, Liberty 12

STRUTHERS

A.J. Musolino rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries as the Wildcats (1-0) finished off a game that was suspended by lightning on Friday night.

Regal Reese ran for 101 yards and a score and Willie Mitchell had a punt return touchdown and a 1-yard score.

Dra Rushton ran for both touchdowns for the Leopards (0-1).

Hubbard 20, Bay Village Bay 0

BAY VILLAGE

Tyreq Moorer scored two touchdowns, Rafael Morales added another and the Eagles’ defense dominated to open the season on the road.

Moorer scored on runs of 42 and 4 yards and ran for 83 yards on nine carries. Morales had 73 yards on 19 carries, including his own 4-yard touchdown.

Hubbard (1-0) held Bay (0-1) to just 34 rushing yards on 35 attempts and limited quarterback Connor Shell to 6-of-19 passes for 63 yards with an interception.

Champion 42, Atwater Waterloo 27

WATERLOO

Quarterback Brandon Allen accounted for six touchdowns and 402 yards as the Golden Flashes beat the Vikings.

Allen passed for 344 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 62 and another score.

Champion’s Noah Bayus had seven receptions for 176 yards and two scores.

Waterloo quarterback Will Bolanz accounted for 297 yards and four touchdowns in a losing effort.

LaBrae 35, Conneaut 17

LEAVITTSBURG

The Vikings scored three first-quarter touchdowns to cruise to their season-opening victory.

After Arjay Oliver scored from the 3, Tariq Drake returned a punt 69 ayrds for a 14-0 lead.

Drake added a 59-yard touchdown before the quarter expired. He also scored on a 66-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Oliver had the Vikings’ other touchdown on a 48-yard run.

Drake led the Vikings with 118 yards on four carries.

For the Spartans, Alex Sturgill scored from the 4 and Tysen Hunt hit Nathan Lower with a 17-yard score.

Crestview 55, Collinwood 14

EAST FAIRFIELD

Caleb Hill scored three touchdowns as the Rebels jumped out to a 42-6 halftime lead over Cleveland Collinwood.

Hill’s runs covered 5, 1 and 8 yards. He also hit Tyler Fitzsimmons with a 13-yard touchdown pass.

Andrew Yanssens rushed for 95 yards on eight carries. Devin Turvey had 68 yards on seven runs including a 6-yard touchdown.

For Collinwood, Charles Hartson passed for 73 yards and rushed fo 152. He scored on a 20-yard run.

Warren Harding 35, East Cleveland Shaw 0

WARREN

Lynn Bowdenled the Raiders (1-0) to a rout in their season opener at Mollenkopf Stadium, accounting for 272 yards and three touchdowns.

Harding’s defense held Shaw (0-1) to 103 yards in shutting out the East Cleveland team for a second consecutive season.

Erie (Pa.) McDowell 31, Howland 10

MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP, PA.

The Tigers’ Tyriq Ellis ran for 113 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, but Howland managed just a safety in the first three quarters and lost its opener the road.

McDowell’s Levi Becker was the top passer and rusher, throwing for 216 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 43 yards and two touchdowns.

Mathews 49, Ashtabula St. John 6

VIENNA

The Canter Connection was on full display as the Mustangs (1-0) opened the season with a one-sided victory in John Protopapa’s debut as their head coach.

Daniel and Dillon Center accounted for five touchdowns for Matherws.

The Mustangs’ defense dominated, holding the Heralds (0-1) to -25 total yards.

St. John broke up the shutout with a long touchdown pass on the game’s final play.

Pymatuning Valley 22, Mineral Ridge 18

MINERAL RIDGE

Gaige Willis ran for 122 yards, scored two touchowns and ran for a two-point conversion as the Lakers won on the road to open the season.

Willis ran for scores of 7 and 15 yards and PV (1-0) also got a 1-yard touchdown from Luke Hockran as it held on after building a 16-0 halftime lead. Quarterback Steven Blascak ran for 80 yards on 13 carries and Hockran added 49 yards on 15 attempts for the Lakers, who rolled up 261 yards on the ground.

Jarred Miller tried to rally the Rams (0-1) with three second-half touchdown runs of 5, 9 and 12 yards. Miller finished with 118 yards on 16 carries.

Crestwood 39, West Branch 26

MANTUA

West Branch quarterback T.J. DeShields threw for 310 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as Crestwood (1-0)kept up its scoring pace.

While the Warruirs (0-1) took to the air, Red Devils relied on running back Logan Thut, who scored three touchdowns and ran for 313 yards. Thut scored twice in the fourth quarter to put the Indians away.

Jackson-Milton 35, Southington 0

SOUTHINGTON

The Bluejays (1-0) did all of their scoring in the first half.

Noah Laster caught three of quarterback John Voland’s four touchdown passes. Cameron Shaffer caught the fourth.

Voland threw for 233 yards.

Southington did not complete a pass and was intercepted twice.
