3-year-old dies in family pool today in Springfield Twp.

NEW MIDDLETOWN

A 3-year-old girl died in Springfield Township after getting out of the house and to the family’s above-ground swimming pool.

Emergency crews were called to the East South Range Road home around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, Springfield Township police said the drowning appears to be accidental.

The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office will be investigating.
