Byrne earns Eagle Scout status

Neighbors | Submitted.Patrick Byrne of Canfield recently earned Eagle Scout status. He was presented with his award at a special Court of Honor on July 27.

Troop 25, Boy Scouts of America chartered to Canfield United Methodist Church, recently announced the awarding of the Eagle Scout Award to Patrick R. Byrne.

His Eagle Scout Award was presented at a special Eagle Scout Court of Honor on July 27 in Canfield United Methodist Church.

Byrne joined the Boy Scouts in 2009 and has taken on positions as Quarter Master, Patrol leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. His current merit badges to date are archery, camping, canoeing, citizenship in the community, citizenship in the nation, citizenship in the world, communications, cooking, electricity, environmental science, family life, finger printing, first aid, home repair, kayaking, leatherworking, lifesaving, orienteering, personal fitness, personal management, radio, rowing, swimming, small-boat sailing, shotgun shooting and wood carving.

Byrne will be attending Wentworth Institute of Technology for Civil Engineering in Boston, Mass., pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is a graduate of Canfield High School in the class of 2016.
