MetroPCS in Austintown and Hot101 partnered to host a backpack giveaway on Aug. 13 at MetroPCS.
Hot101’s Justine Thomas broadcast the event live from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and gave guests the opportunity to spin the wheel and win a prize. Guests lined up at the door and around the parking lot before the store opened at 11 a.m. and the backpack giveaway started. MetroPCS had 75 backpacks to give away to those who got there first. All 75 backpacks were gone within the first 30 minutes. Hot101 had a wheel with different prizes listed and whatever the wheel landed on, that person would earn that prize. Hot101 had a table full of prizes that were available to win.
Many of the people showed up to collect the items within a half hour. Throughout the rest of the afternoon there were people who walked in and had a chance to spin a prize wheel even though they wouldn’t receive a backpack.
“Metro is one of our clients so we do promotions with them throughout the year. It depends on the year and what they’re looking to do,” said Thomas.
Hot101 works with MetroPCS to host different promotions during the year to get people out into the community. There are back to school promotions and other types of holiday promotions. Hot101 and MetroPCS look forward to continue their work together and hosting different promotions and providing an entertaining time for families.
