Air show to include jet truck in action

CLEVELAND
The 2016 Cleveland National Air Show will returnLabor Day weekend (Sept. 3-5) at Burke Lakefront Airport, downtown, with ground-based attractions including Shockwave Jet Truck, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, pyrotechnics and more than 30 unique display aircraft.
General admission tickets are $21 ($14 for children age 6-11) in advance at clevelandairshow.com or by calling 216-781-0747. Tickets are $2 more at the gate.
Shockwave is a triple jet-engine truck that currently holds the world record for jet-truck speed at 376 mph. At the air show, it will race down the runway as an airplane flies above it at 300 mph.
Also on hand will be the Mad Bomber, which will do simulated bombing runs and a massive wall of fire.
The show is an aviation theme park with unique display aircraft including military, vintage and commercial planes. Visitors will have the chance to go inside the planes, meet the pilots and explore aviation firsthand.
Military display aircraft will include: U.S. Coast Guard MH-65C Helicopter, U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules, U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster, U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II, U.S. Navy E-2C Hawkeye, U.S. Army UH-60 Blackhawk, U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook, and Canadian CF-18 Hornet.
Also on display and making its first appearance at the show will be the WW II B-25 Mitchell Bomber “Georgie’s Gal.” The North American B-25 Mitchell is an American twin-engine, medium bomber manufactured by North American Aviation.
Headlining this year’s show are the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. They will be joined by the U.S. Air Force’s F-22 Raptor demonstration and F-35 Heritage Flight.
The lineup also includes the original Batcopter and Batmobile, a demonstration by the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team, world aerobatic champion Matt Chapman, Third Strike Wingwalking demonstration and more.
