Staff report

AUSTINTOWN

JD’s Summer Songfest, featuring JD Eicher and three other acts, will return Saturday to Quaker Steak and Lube. Admission to the all-ages event is free.

The outdoor music festival, which was started last year, will again be held in the parking lot surrounding the patio at Quaker Steak and Lube, on Interstate Boulevard, just off state Route 46 near the Interstate 80 interchange. The bands will perform on an outdoor stage that faces the patio bar. The family-friendly event will include cornhole games and a casual, laid-back atmosphere that will match the music. Also performing will be Ryan Humbert, Steve Everett and the Labra Brothers.

“Songfest is primarily focused on singer-songwriter music and acoustic or stripped-back performances,” said Eicher, who puts on the event. “Some folks come out and just eat and enjoy a little music, while others make it their whole day and join in the games, hang with the artists, and sample the The Lube’s [food and drink].”

Available for sale at Songfest will be a special merchandise package that includes several items and a signed poster for the event. A portion of sales will go to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.
