On Inc. 5000 list

Comprehensive Logistics Co. Inc., whose headquarters are at 4944 Belmont Ave., recently announced it was named to the 35th annual Inc. 5000 list, the most-prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing privately held companies.

This exclusive ranking of the nation’s top companies is based primarily on growth and represents the most comprehensive look at America’s entrepreneurs, an important segment of the economy.

Comprehensive Logistics recorded an impressive 123 percent revenue growth over the past three years, the company said in a news release. Companies such as Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow and other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees of the Inc. 5000.

Declared dividend

On Tuesday, the board of directors of the Farmers National Banc Corp. declared a cash dividend of $0.04 per share. The common stock cash dividend will have a record date of Sept. 9 and is payable to shareholders Sept. 30.

McDonald’s recalls fitness bands

NEW YORK

McDonald’s is recalling millions of fitness bands that had been given away in Happy Meals because they might cause skin irritation or burns to children.

The fast-food chain said last week that it would stop distributing the bands in Happy Meals. Now it’s recalling 29 million of them in the U.S., and 3.6 million in Canada.

The company, based in Oak Brook, Ill., received more than 70 reports of incidents after children wore the bands, including seven reports of blisters, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The wristbands, which were made in China and distributed exclusively by McDonald’s, were sold between Aug. 9 and 17.

Nigeria: Air raid ‘fatally wounds’ Boko Haram leader

LAGOS, Nigeria

Nigeria’s military said Tuesday it believes an airstrike has “fatally wounded” Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau and killed about 300 militants, but there was no way to confirm yet another claim of the death of Nigeria’s Islamic extremist leader.

A statement does not say how the military got the information but identifies other commanders as “confirmed dead” in an air raid Friday.

Magnitude 6.1 quake rattles Rome, Italy

ROME

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude estimated at 6.1 has rattled Rome and central Italy in the middle of the night.

There were no immediate reports of damage early today, but state-run RAI radio said people ran into the streets in central Umbria and Le Marche regions shortly after the quake struck Tuesday just after 9:30 p.m.
