Noise complaints leads to police citation on the South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — An Ivanhoe Avenue woman was cited early today for misusing 911 after reports said she called 911 when police responded to her home for a complaint of loud music coming from a car.

Officers were called at about 1:39 a.m. to the 1200 block of Ivanhoe Avenue to investigate a loud music complaint. When they arrived they saw a car parked on the front lawn and a man inside. The man ran away from the car and officers could not find him, reports said.

Reports said Sasha Vazquez, 35, then came out of the front door of the home and asked the officers, “Why are harassing us?” When the officers tried to explain why they were there, she called 911 on her cell phone, reports said.

Vazquez was issued a citation and given a court date.

The officers noted in their report that they issued a parking citation last week for the car parked on the lawn and they have responded to other recent disturbance calls at the home.
