Libertarian Party candidate's name will appear on Ohio ballot for president

COLUMBUS — Libertarian Gary Johnson’s name will appear on Ohio’s presidential ballot, though not with his party affiliation.

The former New Mexico governor and Libertarian presidential candidate instead was one of two candidates certified by the secretary of state’s office as independent candidates for the November general election.

Johnson and presidential hopeful Richard Duncan both submitted enough verifiable voter signatures to state elections officials by the deadline earlier this month to qualify for the ballot, the secretary of state’s office announced today.

Two other independent candidates – Darrell Castle and Michael Steinberg – did not submit enough valid signatures to be certified.
