Man arrested for gun tells cops there's a price on his head
YOUNGSTOWN — A man who told police Monday he had a $1,000 bounty on his head was arrested with a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun.
Reports said an officer on patrol about 7:55 p.m. spotted Jeremy Damron, 28, of Elm Street, walking in the street in the first block of Saranac Avenue favoring his right side like he had a gun.
The officer stopped because of drug sales in the area and reports of gunfire to talk to Damron. Reports said Damron admitted he had a gun and told police he needed it for protection because he had been shot before.
Reports said Damron told police he bought the gun last week for $200 at a flea market because someone has a bounty on his head.
Damron does not have a concealed carry permit, reports said. He was booked into the jail on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
