Festival seeking pirogi eaters

YOUNGSTOWN

The seventh annual Polish Day will take place from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 3055 S Raccoon Road. The festival is looking for participants for a pirogi eating contest at 6 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee and participants must be 18 years or older.

Cooks and businesses are invited to participate in a pirogi making contest at 2 p.m. Sunday. Applicants will be judged in one of four categories: homemade traditional, homemade non-traditional, commercial and dessert.

All participants will receive a T-shirt, and first, second and third place will receive prizes. Interested applicants for either of the events must complete entry forms online at www.polishyoungstown.org, or by contacting staff at 330-333-9724 or info@polishyoungstown.org.
