Air Force band, vocalists in concert

The U.S. Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in Stambaugh Auditorium.

The Concert Band and Singing Sergeants have traveled the world together for more than 70 years.

The band is an internationally recognized symphonic wind ensemble, and is the largest of the six groups within the U.S. Air Force Band. It performs a variety of music ranging from classical and original works to solo features, popular pieces and patriotic numbers.

The Singing Sergeants are known as the official chorus of the U.S. Air Force. The group is composed of 20 professional Airmen vocalists who perform a large repertoire that includes choral classics, opera, Broadway, folk, jazz, mainstream and patriotic pieces.

Though the performance is free to the public, tickets are required and are available at the box office at Stambaugh, 1000 Fifth Ave.; by phone at 330-259-0555; online at stambaughauditorium.com; or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope and a ticket request from the ad that will run in The Vindicator in September to: Florence and Ward Beecher Box Office, c/o Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, OH 44504. Tickets will be held at Will Call unless a self-addressed stamped envelope is provided.

There is a limit of six tickets per order.
