Police chase stemmed from failure to signal

Officers arrested a man after a police chase early Sunday.
According to the report, officers attempted a traffic stop on Market Street near West Avondale Avenue because Cameo Sharpe, 32, of Fairgreen Avenuedid not use a turn signal.
Reports said Sharpe sped up turning onto West Lucius Avenue where he exited the vehicle, running on foot toward Parkcliffe Avenue.
When officers caught up to Sharpe, he “began to actively resist officers’ efforts to apprehend him,” reports said.
After Sharpe was apprehended, reports said he requested medical attention for stomach pains and shortness of breath. Sharpe was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Sharpe was issued citations for failure to signal before change of course, failure to comply with a police order and driving with a suspended license.
Once Sharpe is medically cleared,he’ll face charges of resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
