Police yet to ID woman who died at Porter Street Northeast apartment

WARREN —Authorities still have not identified the young woman who asked to stay overnight at an apartment on Porter Street Northeast last week and later was found dead.

The woman is described as white, 20-to-30 years old, 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-4, 140 to 160 pounds with long, blonde hair wearing blue jeans and a tee shirt wearing no socks or shoes.

She is believed to have died of a drug overdose.

A resident of the 200 block, 19, said she went to her porch at 11 p.m. Wednesday and found the woman on the porch shaking and crying. She asked to stay there that night because she had “nowhere to go.”

The resident allowed the woman to sleep on her couch, while the resident and her infant son slept in the bedroom with the door locked.

At 10:30 a.m. Thursday, the resident tried to shake the woman on the couch, but she would not wake up, so the resident called 911.

Police round the victim face-down on the couch deceased. Beside the couch was a cell phone, rolled up dollar bill and red duffle bag containing a spoon, folded piece of paper containing a pink powder and another piece of paper apparently containing Suboxone strips.

Suboxone is used by opiate addicts to relieve cravings for the drug.
