v W.D. Packard Concert Band, 7 p.m.: The pride of Warren since 1955 presents “Slippin’ and Slidin” with The Packard Trombones in W.D. Packard Hall/South Lawn Band Shell, 1703 Mahoning Ave., Warren. The concert is free.

Labor Day festival at Nelson Ledges

Nelson Ledges Quarry Park presents the ninth annual Summerdance, a Labor Day Weekend festival, featuring Lotus, Sept. 2-5.

In addition to Saturday and Sunday night headliners Lotus, the weekend will feature Particle, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Broccoli Samurai, G-Nome Project, Octave Cat, Luke the Knife, Genetics feat. Chuck Morris, Eric Evasion, Sean 2:16 and Thunder St. Clair.

Music and beer at Oktoberfest

The third annual Main Street Kent Oktoberfest is scheduled from noon to 10 p.m. Sept. 17 on Franklin Ave., from W. Main St. to W. Erie St. in downtown Kent.

Vendors will offer specially prepared German foods including brats, schnitzel and strudel. Kent Guild of Brewers will demonstrate the homebrew process. Seasonal beers and cider will be available. Entertainment will include Polka Revolution, German Family Society Youth Groups, Vibrogroove and Armstrong Bearcat.
