Ohio woman, 81, killed by pickup truck at fast-food restaurant

COLUMBUS

A woman has died after being hit and run over by a pickup truck as it backed up in a Columbus fast-food parking lot.

Authorities have identified the woman as 81-year-old Phyllis Green. She was struck around 6 p.m. and later died at a hospital.

Columbus police say Green and a friend were walking toward their vehicle in the parking lot when the truck knocked her to the ground and ran her over. A 28-year-old man driving the pickup truck remained at the scene.

Police are investigating.

It was Columbus’ 41st traffic fatality this year.
