A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:
CANFIELD
Aug. 3
Threatening letter: A report of a threatening letter was made at a home in the 200 block of Montgomery Lane. The case was closed due lack of potential suspects.
Aug. 4
Unauthorized use: A report of unauthorized use of a credit card and a motor vehicle were made at a home in the 300 block of Brookpark Drive.
Aug. 7
Drug abuse: Dusty Lindstrom, 27, and Joshua McCray, 38, both of Corry, Pa., were arrested on charges of drug abuse and drug paraphernalia.
Aug. 8
Stolen phone: A cellphone was reported stolen at McDonald’s, 586 E. Main St.
Drug abuse: William Blasdell, 49, of Bunny Trail, Canfield, was arrested on drug-abuse and drug-paraphernalia charges.
Aug. 11
Drug paraphernalia: Shawn Wendling, 35, of Rapson Ave., New Castle, Pa., was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Burglary: Julia Flick, 31, of Lisbon St., Canfield was arrested in a burglary at a home in the 300 block of Court St. Money was stolen.
AUSTINTOWN
Aug. 8
Theft: A male suspect put steaks down his pants at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damaging: A window was shot out with a BB gun at Market Street Furniture, 1724 S. Raccoon Road.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle was dented and scratched at the Ice House Inn, 5516 W. Webb Road.
Breaking and entering: A vacant house in the 3000 block of Monaca Ave. was broken into and pipes were cut out.
Theft: A woman’s Huntington Bank card was stolen and used to charge $459 at BW3, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A wallet was taken from a shopping cart at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.
Recovered property: A bank card was recovered at Huntington Bank, 1732 S. Raccoon Road.
Aug. 9
Fraud: Unauthorized charges were reported at a home in the 100 block of Covington Cove.
Assault: Assault and menacing were reported at a home in the 200 block of Idlewood Road.
Recovered: Miscellaneous wheels with mounted tires, four wheels and a GMC vehicle grille were recovered at a home in the 4000 block of Burgett Road.
Aug. 10
Criminal trespassing: Yusuf Jamal El-Makdah, 21, homeless, was charged with criminal trespassing at Four Seasons Apartments, 4222 New Road.
Breaking and entering: A rock was thrown through a window and money was taken at Great Clips, 6006 Mahoning Ave.
Inducing panic: Tina Scritchfield, 57, of Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road was arrested on a charge of inducing panic by pulling the fire alarm at Phoenix House.
Theft: A cellphone and case, a credit card and Ohio license were stolen at Comprehensive Logistics, 365 Victoria Road.
Burglary: Damage was done to a door but no entry was gained and nothing was taken at a home in the 200 block of Wilcox Road.
Aug. 11
Aggravated burglary: Two male suspects took a .25-caliber gun and cellphone at an apartment in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.
Theft: Unauthorized transactions to a debit card were reported at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.
Criminal trespassing: Michael Brantley, 48, of Ferguson Street, Detroit, was issued a summons for no vendor’s license and criminal trespassing.
Aug. 12
Theft: There is a suspect in a theft at a home in the 3000 block of Edinburgh Drive.
Counterfeit currency: Timothy Simms, 29, of Dorchester St., Akron was arrested on a criminal-simulation charge and on a warrant out of Magnolia, Ohio, for forgery. He had several other warrants outstanding. He is accused of passing eight counterfeit bills at Country Fair, 1143 N. Canfield-Niles Road. A torn counterfeit $20 bill was recovered.
Criminal damaging: A pool and deck were damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Lanterman Road.
Theft: Andrew Bayus, 23, of Carnegie Ave. was arrested on a charge of theft.
Aug. 13
Warrant: Pamela Harbin, 42, of Belvedere Ave., Warren, was arrested on Trumbull County warrants for two counts of aggravated possession of drugs and possession of heroin.
Theft: A cashier was short-changed at Tractor Supply, 6225 Mahoning Ave.
Drug offense: Joseph Yohn, 48, of Lucretia Lane, Columbiana, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, drug possession of cocaine and heroin, and Jacklyn Yohn, 44, of Claridge Drive, Austintown, was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine, heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia at Sears Hardware, 6009 Mahoning Ave.
Aug. 14
Domestic violence: Craig Alpinis, 37,of Avalon Court was arrested on a domestic-violence charge.
