The Hubbard Conservation Club, 1760 Wick-Campbell Road, and Lifesaver Training CCW Education certified instructors/range officers are offering a one-day, eight-hour pistol course from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

This training meets the requirements to apply for a concealed-handgun license for Ohio residents or those from neighboring states who work in Ohio.

The course will cover basic pistol training and CHL law requirements for both the novice and experienced who wish to practice safe and legal gun-handling skills.

Cost is $95 or $180 per couple and includes use of target pistols, ammunition and eye and ear protection. Light snacks and lunch will be provided.

Turkey shoots

Lowellville

The Lowellville Rod & Gun Club, 6225 Quarry Road, will have fall turkey shoots every Tuesday from Sept. 6 through Nov. 22.

Sign-up begins at 6 p.m., and shoots begin at 7. Shoots will be for meat and money prizes. Shells will be provided.
