Travolta movie about Gotti films in SW Ohio
HAMILTON, OHIO
A biopic about late mob boss John Gotti starring John Travolta is filming in southwest Ohio.
Travolta portrays the notorious New York City mob boss in “The Life and Death of John Gotti,” which co-stars Travolta’s wife, Kelly Preston, and began filming in Cincinnati last month.
He is in Hamilton this week to film at the Butler County Jail.
Chief Deputy Anthony Dwyer of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office says filming at the jail began Monday and will continue for a few more days. Scenes have been shot in interrogation rooms, and the crew also filmed at a former jail facility.
The movie is being directed by Kevin Connolly, who’s known for his role in the “Entourage” franchise.

Kanye West fans can buy a taste of “The Life of Pablo” this weekend after the rapper-turned-fashion mogul’s announcement of 21 pop-up stores worldwide that will be open for just three days, beginning Friday.
West tweeted a map Wednesday night with red dots indicating the stores’ locations. Thirteen stores will be in major cities in the U.S. Others will be in Toronto, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne and Cape Town.
West is expanding the pop-up store concept after similar events in New York, Los Angeles and Paris earlier this year. West says the New York event generated $2 million in sales of items including thrift store jackets customized by West for $400.
Metallica to release 1st album in 8 years
LOS ANGELES
Metallica is preparing to self-destruct – in a good way.
The band announced Thursday it’s releasing its first album in eight years, the longest Metallica has ever gone between studio albums. “Hardwired ... To Self-Destruct” will feature 80 minutes of music from the veteran heavy-metal group. The album is scheduled for release Nov. 18.
Metallica debuted the album’s first track, “Hardwired,” on 93X (KXXR-FM) in Minneapolis and the accompanying music video on YouTube. The band says its 11th studio album represents “the next phase of our journey.”
The “Nothing Else Matters” and “Unforgiven” band explained that “Hardwired ... To Self-Destruct” will be available in several forms: a double CD, vinyl, through digital download, as well as a deluxe edition with “the riffs that were the origins of the album.”
Jan on ‘Brady Bunch’ sells home for $3.9M
MALIBU, CALIF.
Jan may have always played second fiddle to older sister Marcia on “The Brady Bunch,” but she may be tops when it comes to real-estate investing.
The Los Angeles Times reports actress Eve Plumb, who played Jan on the 1970s sitcom, has sold a Malibu beach house for $3.9 million, 47 years after buying it for $55,300 at age 11 in 1969.
The Times reports the three-bedroom, 850-square foot cottage built in the 1950s went on the market earlier this year for $4.15 million. The listing included renderings showing how the home could be reshaped into an ultramodern residence.
