Comedian Williams charged with battery
LOS ANGELES
Los Angeles prosecutors have charged Katt Williams with misdemeanor battery over an altercation he had with a woman in a parking lot last month.
City attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan says Williams’ case is due for arraignment today. Williams, who faces up to six months in jail if convicted, is not required to attend the hearing.
The 44-year-old comedian was arrested July 24 outside the Sportsmen’s Lodge banquet hall and hotel after a female employee said he hurt her.
Williams’ attorney Shawn Holley declined to comment.
Smith slams online criticism of daughter
Director Kevin Smith is taking on an online troll who called his daughter “ugly” and “talentless” and wished her dead on Instagram.
Smith posted on Facebook the comment he says his 17-year-old daughter, Harley Quinn Smith, received after posting a picture of herself on Instagram. Smith writes that his daughter took the comment in stride.
He says the commenter would be better off making his “own dreams come true, instead of slamming others for doing the same.”
Smith directed his daughter in “Yoga Hosers,” which is set for wide release next month.
