Board of control OKs pact for grant assistance
YOUNGSTOWN — The board of control today approved a two-year contract for up to $200,000 to have Youngstown State University’s Regional Economic Development Initiative assist city departments with applying for state, federal and foundation grants.
REDI is charging $50 an hour.
REDI officials will meet Monday with city council to discuss what it will do to assist the city.
The board also approved an agreement with the Youngstown Business Incubator to provide a 12-year, 50-percent real-property tax abatement and up to $500,000 for water and wastewater expenses for its project at the former Vindicator building.
