Polish Krakusy society sets picnic

LOWELLVILLE

The Free Polish Krakusy Society will host its annual summer picnic from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at Countryside Farm, 4684 Center Road.

The event will feature ethnic foods including pirogi, kielbasa, kapusta, chicken, haluski, Polish and American beer and wines, a corn hole tournament and games.

Advance tickets are $25 per person. Contact a Krakusy Society member or mail payment to P.O. Box 5552, Poland, OH, 44514. Tickets will be mailed to you.

Tickets on the day of the event will be $30, and free for children 10 and younger.

TSO returning to Covelli Centre

YOUNGSTOWN

Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s 2016 winter tour celebrates 20 years of the project launched by Paul O’Neill, TSO’s creator/lyricist/composer.

The treasured tale “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve” tour begins in November and ends with special New Year’s Eve performances in Seattle and Cleveland.

TSO plays at 3:30 and 8 p.m. Nov. 17 in the Covelli Centre and at 3 and 9 p.m. Dec. 31 in Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

Dana musicians to perform at Butler

YOUNGSTOWN

Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University and Butler Institute of American Art will again partner to provide music at noon almost every Wednesday during YSU’s school year.

The first group to perform will be Dana Brass at 12:15 p.m. Aug. 31.

Musicians featured will be Dr. Stacie Mickens, Dr. Brian Kiser, Dr. Christopher Krummel, John-Sebastian Vera, Hakeem Bilal and Nicholas Samson.

Parking is available in the M1 Wick Avenue parking deck for a nominal fee or in the Butler parking lot.
